Transvaginal Mesh Lawsuit Update: Federal Ethicon MDL Status Conference Coming Up in West Virginia, Rottenstein Law Group LLP Reports
Transvaginal mesh lawsuits involving Johnson & Johnson subsidiary Ethicon are progressing in federal court in West Virginia, according to court documents. The next status conference, in which pretrial proceedings will be discussed, will be held at 10 a.m. on Sept. 19, according to court documents (In Re Ethicon, Inc., Pelvic Repair System Products Liability Litigation; MDL-2327, U.S. District Court for the Southern District of West Virginia).
There are more than 10,000 lawsuits consolidated into what is called a “multidistrict litigation,” which allows for efficiency in pretrial matters such as document discovery.* According to court documents, women are filing vaginal mesh lawsuits alleging they suffered such common harms as erosion, pain and severe discomfort.
